Eddie Idik
Chapter Chairperson
With over 20 years’ experience, Eddie is highly regarded as a specialist within the convention, exhibition, and live event sectors. Eddie is the director of Vital Risk Services Group and is an Accredited Venue Manager (AVM), a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).

Helena Pontes
Deputy Chairperson
Helena has been in the security industry for the past five years and has quickly applied extensive experience providing solutions to commercial customers across Australia and New Zealand. Helena holds a dual role within ASIS Australia – Deputy Chairperson of ASIS NSW and Women in Security lead. Helena has strategies for engaging with women in the NSW chapter and beyond, empowering career growth, and ultimately increasing diversity in the industry. 

Laurie Mugridge
Laurie is an expert in physical security with more than 25 years’ experience in providing solutions to government, public and commercial buildings and sensitive sites around the globe. As Technical Director for Gunnebo Australia/New Zealand, Laurie’s expertise is demonstrated in designing solutions for Entrance Control, Blast, Bullet and Manual attack resistant doors windows and partitions with a renewed focus on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation. 

Daniel Rasins
Daniel is an Associate Director – ICT & Security Team Lead (NSW & ACT) at AECOM’s Sydney office and has completed a Bachelor of Science (Security) degree and Graduate Diploma in Security Management. Leading the ICT & Security team for NSW & ACT, Daniel’s security consulting career spans over 16 years across relevant commercial, critical infrastructure, aviation, Defence and transportation markets. Daniel takes a hands-on approach when working with clients to develop a deep understanding of a site’s key assets, operations, and risks and this adds value in developing a cohesive overarching protective security framework.
