Security of Critcal Infrastructure 2021 - (Status Update 2)

Review by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence & Security (PJCIS): Public Hearing scheduled for Friday 11 June 2021

Review of the Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure) Bill 2020 and
Statutory Review of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018

The next public hearing is to be held on Friday 11 June 2021.

An Agenda of the hearing is attached.  Importantly, this will be the second hearing since the introduction of the amendment (first occurred on Friday 09 February 2021), and the transfer of the amendment from the House to the PJCIS.

Submissions and testimony will be heard from the Law Council of Australia, IGIS, Victorian Information Commissioner, the Commonwealth Ombudsman the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, and WA Dept of Premier and Cabinet.  Importantly, and of note, Home Affairs will also present its case with an appearance by the Secretary of the Dept, Mr Michael Pezzullo AO.

As with all Public Hearings, their session will be available on the Australian Parliament House network.
